Must a certified translation into Spanish be stamped by a Civil Law Notary Public?

An EU regulation from 2016 permits translations to be exempt from having to be legalized or apostilled when they concern public documents and certified copies of such documents which have been issued by a public authority in a member state and presented to a public authority in another member state. This means that a certified translation from Spanish into English carried out by a translator certified in Spain is also valid in English without an apostille and vice versa. This exemption applies only to private individuals, not companies.
