We only work with highly high-quality Spanish translators
Our translators are graduate certified translators or so-called specialized translators, that is to say translators who, in addition to sound language skills, also have a thorough knowledge of the specialist area they translate in, be it technology, law, medicine or finance. Of course, they are fluent in the source language but have the target language as their native language, which means that if you order a certified translation into Spanish, the translation will be done by a translator whose native language is Spanish.
Certified translation into and from Spanish
We provide certified translations from Spanish into English and English into Spanish. The translators we use are either certified by the Legal, Financial and Administrative Services Agency in Sweden or by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Spain. Texts and documents that have to be translated by a certified translator are typically documents such as annual accounts, court rulings, registration documents, school certificates, marriage certificates, as well as other financial and legal documents.
Must a certified translation into Spanish be stamped by a Civil Law Notary Public?
When you order a certified translation into Spanish with us, it is usually done by a translator certified by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which means that it should usually bear an apostille from a Civil Law Notary Public. This Notary Public attests that the translator is certified.
An EU regulation from 2016 permits translations to be exempt from having to be legalized or apostilled when they concern public documents and certified copies of such documents which have been issued by a public authority in a member state and presented to a public authority in another member state. This means that a certified translation from Spanish into English carried out by a translator certified in Spain is also valid in English without an apostille and vice versa. This exemption applies only to private individuals, not companies.
The native-language principle is a quality requirement
The native-language principle is one of the cornerstones and a quality requirement when it comes to professional translation. The principle states that a translator must only translate into their native language. A native Spanish speaker translates into Spanish, a native English speaker translates into English, and so on. To be considered a native speaker, the translator must have grown up in and completed their education in a country where their native language is the official language.
Quality-assured translation according to ISO 17100
We have held quality certification since 2011, and as of 2015 according to the new ISO standard, ISO 17100. Being ISO certified means that we have invested our finances and significant effort into documenting and verifying all our procedures, from the requirements placed on translators and their recruitment to ensuring the quality of every translation that we produce. For example, we only use professional, full-time university graduate translators, who specialize in the subject area they translate in. All translations are proofread by a second translator with the same qualifications as the first translator. Compliance with the established criteria for the certification is regularly inspected by the professional entity that certified us. As a certified translation agency for Spanish, we also provide quality assurance with the translations we produce.
Confidentiality with certainty
We handle a great deal of highly confidential information, so it goes without saying that all assignments are treated with the strictest confidentiality.
